Finding Your Scent Family with Mia Bella's Candles

Everyone is different.  Everyone has different likes & dislikes.  These may even change from day to day or hour to hour depending on mood, emotions, or stressors during the day.  So, how do you pick a scented candle that will work for you?

There are fragrance families that generally consist of: Sweet & Spicy, Florals, Fruity, Masculine, & Fresh


Sweet & Spicy - Mia Bella's Candles

Sweet & Spicy:  Vanilla, cinnamon, coffee, sage, brown sugar – any of these can lead one to think of baked goods.  


Some say that having a baked goods scent in the house actually prevents them from wanting to bake, others say it’s the opposite.


Florals - Mia Bella's Candles

Pretty much as it sounds.  Most have various undertones with the top note usually it’s name sake. 

 Don’t be surprised when you catch a light powder scent along with the florals.

Fruity - Mia Bella's Candles

Lemon, lime, grapefruits, apricots, pomegranate. All of these can be used to energize and perk up awareness in your day.  Most tend to move towards this scent family as they find it refreshing and clean.

Masculine - Mia Bella's Candles

Musk. Rich & Sophisticated. 

Full of ambers, sandalwood, tonka bean, cedar, with under tones of subtle florals.


Lots of woodsy scents can also fall under this catagory.



Fresh - Mia Bella's Candles

Anything woodsy, most common being cedar and pine.  Some will also be a mix of different musks and grasses when you move to a lighter side.Lavender, Sage, Rosemary, Frankincense, Peppermint & Orange all would fall into the Fresh scent category. 

Peppermint is also well known for it’s headache relieving properties.  In the right mix, most favour these type of scents overall.
