The 6 month clean or purge - ( work and a blessing at the same time!)
the lull between Thanksgiving and Christmas
No matter where you may be, it's a change and making your home a cozy, want to be there experience can make all the difference.
You don't want to be putting out a bunch of your hard earned money into decorating for October - so what is one to do?
Some easy home decor change overs are:
Removing the rest of your Holiday decorations - we all have the ones that NEVER get put away!
Adding some oranges, reds and yellows to anything will brighten up your space.
You can leave the reds out and incorporate them into winter holiday themes.
Oranges & Reds help to bring a simple room over into the colourful side.
Not expensive
Easy to store
Pumpkins
Fall artificial flowers
Can be reused every year
A great scented candle of Pumpkin Berry Crumble or Woodsy scents are GREAT with a fall
themed table.
Red & light green stems can be used through Christmas & again at Easter too!
Things you can put around your glass chimney:
small pumpkins
cinnamon candies
Artificial colourful leaves
Scented Candles perhaps a Autumn Weather candle would be a great fit here.....
One thing to keep in mind for your centerpieces is to have them large enough to be eye catching but small/light enough to be portable when required - like when the family is over for dinner
When creating your fall urns, keep in mind that you will want to recycle and use them for Christmas too. To do this, you canjust move out your ghoulish items and replace with more festive winter ones.
Freshen them up with a change of natural green sprigs for highlights in them.
Add some red candy canes, green ribbons and white snow flakes and you will be good to go!
Enjoy it. Embrace the change, for as we all know, it will just be for a little while and before you know it we will be thinking of what small simple things we can do for the next upcoming season - Spring!
